Practices of post-representational aesthetics con opere del duo artistico Klara Källström e Thobias Fäldt e dell’artista Giovanna Repetto. Attenti osservatori delle radicali trasformazioni vissute nel tempo dal fotografico gli artisti in mostra hanno messo a punto pratiche consapevoli e inventive per mobilitare le immagini quali strumenti di creazione di senso e produzione di conoscenza. Mentre il duo Källström-Fäldt usa la strategia della giustapposizione per leggere il presente alla luce del passato e scardinare le narrazioni dominanti del nostro tempo, Repetto si interroga sulla capacità narrativa dell’immagine a cavallo tra i domini del reale e del virtuale. La relazionalità - tra e con le immagini - emerge come chiave di volta per rispondere alla crisi di rappresentazione che la fotografia ha vissuto e per riattualizzare la potenzialità del visivo nell’era del post-fotografico.

MLZ Art Dep and WAF are pleased to present Images in Relation. Post-representational Aesthetic, an exhibition featuring works by the artistic duo Klara Källström and Thobias Fäldt and the artist Giovanna Repetto. Attentive observers of the radical transformations experienced by photography over time, these artists have developed conscious and inventive practices to mobilize images as tools of sense-making and knowledge production. While the Källström-Fäldt duo uses the strategy of juxtaposition to read the present in the light of the past and undermine the dominant narratives of our time, Repetto questions the narrative capacity of the image straddling the domains of the real and the virtual. Relationality - between and with images - emerges as the key to responding to the crisis of representation that invested photography and to re-actualizing the visual's potential in the era of the post-photographic.
